EMPIRE OF WEALTH Starting in 1903 as the M.H. Kuhn Company in Rochester, N.Y. It became The Haloid Photographic Company in 1906 and originally manufactured photographic paper and equipment. Chester Carlson made the first xerographic image in 1938 and patented the process in 1942. Initially the process was thought to be worthless, but The Haloid Company commercialized the process.
